Creighton Farms

Aldie, Virginia

This new 900-acre, high-end residential development, located outside of Washington, DC, was designed to draw upon the vernacular architecture of the Virginia Hunt Country region.

Four genres of architectural styles—English Manor, Colonial Revival, American Vernacular, and English Romantic—were selected as appropriate for the historical location. Several houses' plans were created in each of the four styles of architecture.

As part of the project, the team created the development’s vision book to gently educate potential owners on the appropriate significance of the architectural styles and the vision of the developer and the design team.
