Franck & Lohsen Architects

World Trade Center

New York City, New York

In the days following September 11th, The Manhattan Institute commissioned Franck & Lohsen to create a proposal of what could eventually be built on the site, so as to inspire positive images during a difficult period. This proposal created a memorial square surrounded by heroic high-rises, ranging in style from Neo-Classical to Art Deco, all designed to strengthen and reinforce each other. Working with noted Scottish sculptor Alexander Stoddart, a series of timeless statues were designed for the park to honor those whose lives were lost.
